CASELINK is not officially affiliated with GTA:World, does not officially represent it and does not claim to. You will never be asked to provide any personal information or other forms or identifying data.
Any issues or concerns related to the database must be directed to Big Pengu.
CAESLINK only aims to augment your investigative experience and is by no means a requirement to be a part of. Nothing relies on it, so not using it will not make you unable to access something you can't already access.
What is CASELINK?
CASELINK is an internal tool developed by Big Pengu for the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department (LSSD), that relies solely on the data available on the agency's forum and intranet, and does not utilise any external resources and/or functions to source data. Data provided by CASELINK is not associated with the MDC, and refer solely to its availability with the LSSD. (i.e ON FILE = ON FILE at the LSSD)
It is a centralised intelligence platform providing a consolidated detective and forensic database, with the ability for AFIS fingerprint matching, CODIS DNA cross-referencing, IBIS ballistic correlation, NFLIS narcotics correlation and real-time subject profiling for authorised personnel. The platform aims to act as a simplified lookup tool, that consolidates and parses queries live from the available dataset, and present results in the best possible format.
With CASELINK, you will be able to look up someone's DNA string, fingerprint string, weapon's serial number, phone number, narcotics laboratory signature, and see if these have appeared in any reports produced by the Scientific Services Bureau, or look up a name, vehicle or a phone number, thereby informing you of whether these individuals and/or entities have been a part of other investigations/cases, allowing you to link them to one another - hence CASE LINK.

Who can use CASELINK?
The primary beneficiary of CASELINK is the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department (LSSD). Access to CASELINK may be requested by the members of its Scientific Services Bureau, non-probationary members of the Detective Division, and the unit commander(s) of the Internal Affairs Bureau.
Outside LSSD, limited access to the database may be given to its partners from the San Andreas Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation (SADCR) and District Attorney's Office (DAO). Eligible units/bureaus/divisions from the aforementioned agencies include:
- DAO: Bureau of Investigation (BOI) - only non-probationary members
- SADCR: Investigative Services Unit (ISU) - only non-probationary members
Once you are no longer a member of an eligible agency and/or unit, your access to the system will be revoked.
CASELINK now supports the GTA:W OAuth login feature, which means that you can use your server credentials to sign in, and request clearance on your desired character. The only condition is that your character is in a faction that is authorized to receive said clearance. If this condition is not met, you will not be able to request access. If this condition is not met AFTER you've already received access, your access will automatically be revoked.

Welcomed 47 people before retiring
Gone, but not forgotten.
This section will not discuss in detail which databases a certain clearance level has access to, it only aims to outline which positions receive which level of clearance. Clearance level being listed above another does not automatically mean that it can see everything from the level(s) below it.
CLEARANCES:
- 10 - me
- 6 - Scientific Services Bureau Directorate (Director & Assistant Director)
- 5F - Supervising Forensic Analysts (Criminalist Supervisor & Laboratory Supervisor)
- 5D - Supervising Digital Analysts (Digital Unit Supervisor)
- 4 - Operations Lieutenant & Captain (or Unit Commander) of the Internal Affairs Bureau
- 3F - Senior Forensic Analysts (Senior Criminalists & Assistant Laboratory Supervisors)
- 3D - Senior Digital Analysts
- 2 - Detectives (HB, MCB, NB, OSSB, TRAP), irrespective of rank (except probationary)
- 1F - Forensic Analysts (Criminalists & Laboratory Technicians)
- 1D - Digital Analysts
- E-1 - Members of the SADCR's Investigative Services Unit, irrespective of rank (except probationary)
- E-2 - Members of the DAO's Bureau of Investigation, irrespective of rank (except probationary)
- E-3 - Members of the SFM's Arson Investigation Team - supervisory staff only.
Players will be granted access to the database only on a single character. If you've got circumstances where multiple are required and justified (must have separate clearances), reach out to myself, and such issues will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
USAGE
CASELINK is an internal database for the LOS SANTOS COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT. It mimics features from other government databases, however is limited to querying through contributions made by the agency's own forensic team to its intranet. It cannot and does not fetch data from the MDC, and relies strictly on the data provided by the Scientific Services Bureau..
comprises several query types, each with its own dedicated functionality and query areas. These are listed and explained below:
SUBJECT LOOKUP - used to search for someone using their name, AFIS string or CODIS string.
AUTOMATED FINGERPRINT IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM (AFIS) LOOKUP - used to look up an AFIS (fingerprint) string, to see if it has appeared in any reports by the Scientific Services Bureau.
COMBINED DNA INDEX SYSTEM (CODIS) LOOKUP - used to look up a CODIS (DNA) string, to see if it has appeared in any reports by the Scientific Services Bureau.
INTEGRATED BALLISTICS IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM (IBIS) LOOKUP - used to look up a weapon's serial number (ballistic signature, or bullet fragment serial), to see if it has appeared in any reports by the Scientific Services Bureau.
NATIONAL FORENSIC LABORATORY INFORMATION SYSTEM (NFLIS) LOOKUP - used to look up a narcotics laboratory signature, to see if it has appeared in any reports by the Scientific Services Bureau.
DIGITAL DATABASE LOOKUP - used to look up a phone number, Electronic Search Warrant (ESW) or Financial Search Warrant (FSW) identifiers, to see if they've appeared in any reports by the Scientific Services Bureau.
LIMITATIONS
Since CASELINK is not affiliated with the MDC, whether or not someone's profiling samples are on-file relies on if they have a mugshot (for fingerprints) and if their DNA string has appeared in SSB reports. The classification of such goes as follows:
ON FILE - the string has appeared in reports as a matched profile
NOT ON FILE - the string has appeared in reports, but only as an unmatched profile
INCONCLUSIVE - the string has appeared in reports, but only as a deceased profile
- If the AFIS/CODIS identifier is NOT ON FILE or INCONCLUSIVE, the string will only be visible to the members of the Scientific Services Bureau (clearances 5, 3F, 1F) for balance purposes.
- The Reverse Subject Query (looking someone up using their AFIS or CODIS strings) will only be limited to the Scientific Services Bureau (clearances 5, 3F, 1F) for balance purposes.
- If your clearance level is insufficient, but the system finds a match, it will say that a match was found in [REDACTED], and state the minimum required clearance to access said entries.

QUERY
Your clearance level is unauthorized to utilize this query -
This means that you have attempted to look up an AFIS/CODIS string in the subject query, which is a feature with access limited to the Scientific Services Bureau forensics personnel.
